Dr Prince Guneratnam, Chairman of the Pentecostal World Fellowship and Senior Pastor of Calvary Church had the opportunity to host the annual Global Christian Forum (GCF) at Calvary Convention Centre (CCC) from 11-13 February 2019. This is the first time it is being held in Malaysia. World Christian leaders representing 22 denominations and organisations from 25 countries were in attendance.
The GCF first convened in 1998 to seek new opportunities for broadening and deepening encounters between diverse Christian backgrounds, as well as to promote partnerships, seeking to explore and address shared current concerns. This includes social and ethical questions, secularisation, challenges of minority status, and persecution.
A dinner fellowship was held on 10 February 2019, where local Church Denominational Heads were in attendance to interact with the members of the GCF. This included Archbishop Julian Leow, Archbishop of the Diocese of Kuala Lumpur and Chairman of the Christian Federation of Malaysia; Cardinal Anthony Soter Fernandez, Archbishop Emeritus of Kuala Lumpur; Rev. Ong Sek Leang, General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Malaysia; Rev. Dr.Eu Hong Seng, Chairman of the National Evangelical Christian Fellowship; the Rt. Rev. Aaron Yap, Bishop of the Lutheran Church of Malaysia; and representatives from the Methodist and Anglican churches.
